Food shopping is one of my favorite hobbies and more often than not, I leave the store with more than what was on my shopping list. As I was browsing the deli section at my local Publix one day, I spotted a display of Hi I’m Skinny Sticks. Intrigued by the name, I grabbed a bag of their Sweet Potato Sticks and took them home to enjoy. What I discovered inside the bag was quite possibly the tastiest snack with 40% less fat than regular potato chips and up to 19g of whole grains per serving. My kids, who can be quite picky, devoured them and before I knew it, I was at the store purchasing another bag. Since my delicious discovery back in August of 2013, I am now a huge fan of the entire line of Hi I’m Skinny Sticks.
While I have tried all their flavors, it is hard to pick a favorite. I am partial to their sweet potato because it was the first flavor I tried. The perfect combination of salty and sweet, you will find them simply irresistible. The sweetness comes from evaporated cane juice instead of refined sugar, which is just one of the many things I love about these snacks.
Another favorite of mine is their Multi-Grain Sweet Onion. The flavor is the perfect blend of sweet onion and is not overpowering. I enjoy snacking on these after a run or pairing with beer and wine while entertaining guests. These are great on their own but also pair well with dips and salsas. I plan on adding these to my Super Bowl snack menu.
Another thing I love about these snacks is that they offer such a wide variety of flavors including Veggie Tortilla, Multi-Grain Tangy BBQ, Multi-Grain Sea Salt, Sweet Potato, Multi-Grain Sweet Onion and Multi-Grain Cheddar. Having tried them all, each one has been a winner with my taste buds. My kids now prefer these over potato chips which make me one happy mother.
