Chicken and waffles is one of my guilty pleasures. The first time I tried this sweet and savory dish was during a trip to Atlanta back in 2004. I was at a jazz club and while browsing their late night menu, their chicken and waffle dish caught my eye. I just had to order it and that was the night I fell in love with this sweet and savory combination.
With the Super Bowl upon us, I wanted to share an easy appetizer that you can put together in minutes. I spotted a pin for this appetizer on Pinterest from the blog Sparkles and a Stove and wanted to share it since I have had a few of my friends ask me about simple game day recipes.
All you need are three ingredients that you can pick up at the local market and it only takes minutes to put together. If you are like me and have a crazy schedule, this is perfect to throw together and add to your Super Bowl spread. Simply pick up a bag of popcorn chicken and a box of waffles from the frozen section and a bottle of your favorite maple syrup.
Prepare both the chicken and waffles according to their directions. Take the waffles and cut them into four pieces. If you prefer, you can use mini waffles to save a step.
Simply place each piece of chicken on top of the waffle pieces and secure with a frilly pic. Heat up your syrup and voila, you have an easy appetizer that will be a hit with your guests. Too easy.
I hope you all have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!Pin It
