Artisan chocolates that are almost too beautiful to eat is the best way to describe the elegant pieces from Viktoria Richards. Made from only the finest ingredients and blended with French and Belgian dark and milk chocolate, these haute chocolates look like they belong in Vogue Magazine. I first tried these decadent pieces of heaven three years ago and it was love at first bite.
The genius behind these delicious works of art is my friend, the beautiful and talented Victoria Boyko Fulwood. I met Victoria at a chocolate festival three years ago and we bonded over our love of chocolate and shoes. Victoria grew up in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania and as a child, made many trips to the Hershey factory. With a love of chocolate, she chose to attend college in Europe and it was in Lucerne, Switzerland that she had her most memorable European chocolate experience. She was at a movie theater watching one of my favorite films, Saturday Night Fever, and it was there that she discovered Gianduja. If you are not familiar, Gianduja is an incredible combination of hazelnuts and chocolate. After graduating from both the American University in Lucerne, Switzerland, and the American University in London, England, she returned to America with the sweet memories of the chocolate shops of Lucerne, Zurich, Paris and Brussels instilled in her mind. Her and her husband then moved to Toronto and while she was there, she enrolled in a hands-on class on making chocolate. This lead to a year’s worth of study in the art of chocolate making in both Toronto and Montreal. It was during this time that she developed the brand, Viktoria Richards Chocolates. She then returned to America and her successful chocolate career began.
Some of my favorite flavors include P. B. Pretzel Caramel, Morello Cherry Caramel, Mojito, Lemon Vodka, Key Lime, Florida Blueberry Wine, Pumpkin Orange Caramel, Fleur de Sel and Champagne Heart. I am anxious to try Pineapple Chipotle and White Nights Sangria which were both introduced last spring.
