When I began my Pinterest challenge for 2014, I decided to go back to some of the things I pinned during the first two years of using Pinterest. One of my favorites is about the benefits of drinking lemon water. While I have always loved lemon water, I made it a point to revisit this article since I am really focusing on health and fitness. Every morning I drink a cup of hot water with lemon followed by lemon water throughout the day. In the last month, I have noticed a huge difference in my complexion and overall energy level. 1. Lemon Water Is Good For Your Stomach
Especially when lemons are mixed with hot water, it can help with digestion issues, heartburn, and it can even get rid of parasites. You will also notice a more increased amount of trips to the bathroom in order to get rid of waste, because lemon water cleanses your stomach and gets rid of unwanted nutrients. This helps with weight loss. Lemon water also cures constipation, and produces more bile. It will also decrease the amount of phlegm that your body produces.
After waking up and drinking lemon water, my desire to drink multiple cups of coffee has dissipated. As a result, I feel better and more energetic.
2. It Is Excellent For Skin Care
Lemons are antiseptic medicines (what?), which means they cure problems relative to skin care. You may have heard of people rubbing lemon juice on scars or bruises, this is very true. Because there is vitamin C in lemon juice, your skin will glow, and your natural beauty will be very much visible. If you consume lemon water daily, you will notice a decrease in wrinkles, and a decrease in acne. In fact, lemon juice can get rid of already visible wrinkles.
The last few weeks I have had people ask if I just had a facial, as my skin has a more youthful appearance and more of a glow. It is amazing how drinking lemon water instead of carbonated beverages can have such an impact on your appearance.
3. It Is Good For Your Teeth
You probably wouldn’t assume that lemon water would be any good for your teeth, since it’s acidic. However lemon water can get rid of tooth pain, it also stops bleeding in the gums, and other dental problems.
I have not had any sort of tooth pain, but I have friends that swear by this.
4. It Can Cure Throat Infections
Lemon water has antibacterial properties, and it can therefore get rid of bacteria that grows in the throat to cause sore throats. If you gargle the lemon water with a sore throat, you`ll notice an immediate cure.
The last time I was sick and had a sore throat, I sipped on lemon water for a day and my sore throat was healed.
5. Lemon Water Can Help With Weight Loss
The main reason many of you will try this “remedy” is because you`ll lose weight faster. You will make trips to the bathroom more frequently, and will therefore clean any waste in your system and trim down on your stomach. If you have lemon mixed with room temperature water and honey, you`ll notice a decrease in body weight.
By adding lemon water to my daily food and fitness regime, I have noticed that my pants feel looser and my energy level has sky rocketed.
6. It Can Control High Blood Pressure
Since it is high in potassium, lemon water is an amazing remedy for curing high blood pressure. And if you don’t suffer from irregular blood pressure, lemon water will at the very least help your blood levels remain normal!
I have been blessed with low blood pressure, so this does not necessarily apply to me. On my next physical I will be checking my blood levels to see how they are since I have been consuming lemon water on a daily basis.
