October has always been one of my favorite months. It always seems to be when the cooler fall weather kicks in and everything pumpkin is in full swing. As a pizza lover, I love the fact that October is National Pizza Month and I celebrate all month long by eating pizzas all over town. My kids, like me, love pizza and we enjoy making our own at home. Sometimes we are short on time and order delivery or we get creative and make pizza grilled cheese sandwiches.… Read the rest
Have you ever been at the store and suddenly you see something that captures your eye? Well this happened to me last week while shopping at my local Publix in Tampa. As I was rushing in to grab some bell peppers for the restaurant where I work, I spotted some of the cutest desserts I have ever seen.
Ticklebelly Cakebars are similar to cake pops but resemble mini ice cream bars. I purchased the three flavors they had available (vanilla bean, dark chocolate and sweet pumpkin) so that I could try them all and share with friends.… Read the rest
Happy Wine Wednesday! Today I am sharing a fun spin on sangria with one of my favorite wines from the CK Mondavi collection. Back in May, I connected with the fine folks from CK Mondavi at the Food Wine Conference in Orlando, as they were one of the platinum sponsors. Of course, I loved their wines and even brought a few into the restaurant where I work and added them to the wine menu. So far, they have been very well received.… Read the rest
Ok, I have a confession. I have been on a cookie frenzy over the last few weeks and have been treating myself to healthy cookie options almost daily. I am active and with it being summer in Florida, I must lose 2 lbs of water weight a day. Ok, well maybe that is stretching it but I do exercise often and try to run/walk 3 miles daily. Today I had a life changing moment while shopping for work at the local Sam’s Club.… Read the rest
Like many of us, I have a sweet tooth and always crave something decadent in the late afternoon or at night. As I get older, I do not have the same metabolism as I once did and am more conscientious of what I am putting into my body. My kids and I love cookies and when I do not have time to bake them from scratch, I get some of the take and bake kind from the local market.… Read the rest

Garlic goes with everything….pasta, butter, shrimp, steak, veggies and chocolate. Yes, you read that correctly, chocolate. I know I have mentioned this is posts from the past but one of my favorite memories as a child was attending the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival. A garlic lovers paradise, you can try everything you can dream of with garlic, including garlic ice cream served in a cantaloupe bowl. I am telling you, the garlic ice cream is fantastic and even though it has been years since I have had it, I can still remember the taste.… Read the rest
Sometimes life gets in the way of our passion, but only if we allow it. Yes, we have full time jobs, children, pets, housework, church, friends, the list goes on and on. I am 100% guilty of using all of those as an excuse for doing what I really love and now, several years later, my blog could be so much more that what it is had I not given up on my one true passion.… Read the rest
I am so excited to participate in this week’s Sunday Supper which features summer’s best pot luck recipes. As I am currently visiting California on my virtual culinary tour of America, I wanted to share a California inspired recipe. Walnut grapes are easy to make and are a nice addition to a potluck or cocktail party.
When I am invited to a potluck or social event that involves everyone bringing a dish, I always like to bring something different.… Read the rest
