Food shopping is one of my favorite hobbies and more often than not, I leave the store with more than what was on my shopping list. As I was browsing the deli section at my local Publix one day, I spotted a display of Hi I’m Skinny Sticks. Intrigued by the name, I grabbed a bag of their Sweet Potato Sticks and took them home to enjoy. What I discovered inside the bag was quite possibly the tastiest snack with 40% less fat than regular potato chips and up to 19g of whole grains per serving.… Read the rest
I like it hot! For as long as I can remember I have had a love for all things spicy. My collection of hot sauces almost rivals my shoe collection and if you know me, that is a lot of hot sauce. Variety IS the spice of life, right? I use it on everything from chicken and veggies to popcorn and in Bloody Marys. I love to make my own dips and even use it in certain desserts.

Back in April, I was bartending my usual Thursday night shift when the guy that I had been crushing on since Christmas came in for a drink. Nervous, I poured him his Miller Lite draft and tried to strike up a conversation.… Read the rest
I do not think there is anyone that loves Dunkin’ Donuts as much as I do, and I am known as the “Cinnamon Queen” of Tampa Bay. Dunkin’ Donuts’ Cinnamon Spice coffee is part of my morning ritual and I pass by every morning for a cup of warm, cinnamon love. There is something about their cinnamon coffee that I just can’t explain. It is a blend of sweet and spice and it always makes me feel nice. I can’t imagine starting my day without it.… Read the rest

Pasta is my comfort food and I enjoy experimenting with all types of recipes. I have recently become quite fond of whole wheat pasta and have gotten my two bambinos hooked on whole wheat fusilli tossed with my signature pesto, grilled chicken and toasted pine nuts. One of my favorite food companies, DeLallo, along with FAVEDIETS is hosting an amazing giveaway for a gift basket filled with some delicious items!

I love reminiscing about my childhood days of getting donuts from Winchell’s Donut Shop every Saturday morning. My brother and I would leap out of bed earlier than on a school day and head over to Winchell’s with our dad. We would pick our favorite donuts and bring them home while they were still warm in the box. Our house was filled with the scent of warm, fresh donuts and the sounds of classic Saturday morning cartoons.… Read the rest
Maine is high on my list of places to visit and I have long wanted to try their signature treat, whoopie pie. If you are not familiar, a whoopie pie looks like a large sandwich cookie made out of cake. My son refers to a whoopie pie as a “cakewich.” There is a bit of controversy about the origin of the whoopie since both Maine and Pennsylvania are claiming it as their own. In the September 2011 edition of Food Network Magazine, there is a great article called “Big Whoop” which discusses the debate between the two states.… Read the rest
Forget diamonds, doughnuts are a girls best friend! Cake, cream filled, glazed, iced… I love them all and am always on the lookout for cool donut shops in my travels.
This past May, I attended the BlogHer Food Conference in Atlanta. It was an amazing experience and I met some incredible food bloggers. My time to explore Atlanta was limited due to my tight schedule, but I made time to stop by Sublime Doughnuts after reading about them on Urbanspoon.… Read the rest
