Happy Wine Wednesday! Today I am sharing a fun spin on sangria with one of my favorite wines from the CK Mondavi collection. Back in May, I connected with the fine folks from CK Mondavi at the Food Wine Conference in Orlando, as they were one of the platinum sponsors. Of course, I loved their wines and even brought a few into the restaurant where I work and added them to the wine menu. So far, they have been very well received.… Read the rest
Spring is in the air and I am ready for seasonal flavors and dining al fresco before the weather in Tampa gets unbearably hot. I love this time of year when so many fruits are in season and I can incorporate them into recipes. Sangria is the perfect drink for the season and I have a fun spin on this classic using some of my favorite flavors.
Rasberries and lemons go together like peanut butter and jelly.… Read the rest
Tuesday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week and it is largely due to the fact that I get to share a fun cocktail recipe. Today’s drink is perfect for spring and summer and with Mother’s Day around the corner, this would be a fun beverage to serve for brunch. Beautiful in color, refreshing in taste, my Lavender Lemonade will make you swoon.
As a bar manager for a high-volume establishment, I am all about simplicity and speed of service without compromising flavor.… Read the rest
Want to know something funny? This post has been sitting in my draft box for a year. Yep, that’s right, a year. I started it and never finished due to my crazy work schedule. Since I am doing spring cleaning, I decided to dust this one off and post since it is still a good drink and it is Tuesday Boozeday after all.
So when I ask you what is in a Tequila Sunrise, what comes to mind? Let me guess, the hit song by the Eagles or the adult libation made with tequila, orange juice and grenadine, right? Most of us, including myself, tend to think of the classic cocktail that was created in California in the early 1970’s. What would you say if I told you that what you have been drinking is not the original recipe?… Read the rest
Happy Sunday! Do you ever browse the produce isle and get excited when you see something unique like dragon fruit? I enjoy experimenting with different fruits and one of my favorites is lychee. Many moons ago, when I still lived in California, I had my first lychee martini at bar in San Francisco and it was love at first sip. This delicate and floral fruit won me over and is now one of my favorite fruits.… Read the rest
Lately I have been obsessed with creating different variations of the classic Moscow Mule. For those that are not familiar, the Moscow Mule is a cocktail consisting of vodka, ginger beer and a dash of lime juice. Born in 1941 in New York, it surged in popularity in Los Angeles and made a huge comeback a few years ago at bars and restaurants across America. Traditionally served in a copper mug, the Moscow Mule is easy to make and with a little bit of imagination, you can concoct some exciting twists on this classic.… Read the rest
Happy Friday! I love this time of year when blood oranges are in season. As soon as I see them in the market, I am sure to purchase a bunch and enjoy them in everything from fresh juice and cocktails to salads and in marinades. Perfect for snacking, these gorgeous pieces of citrus are one of my favorite fruits. As with all of my favorite things, I search for new ideas on Pinterest and the other day I came across a recipe for Blood Orange Margaritas from the blog, How Sweet It Is, and decided to recreate the recipe and make it my own.… Read the rest
I love this time of year when fresh cranberries are in abundance at all the local markets. While most people enjoy them only during the holidays, I like to use them through the month of February because they are so versatile. Today I came across a pin for a Cranberry Mojito and decided to test one out while at work.
Easy to prepare, a Cranberry Mojito is a festive spin on the classic cocktail and perfect for a Valentine’s themed party.… Read the rest
Today’s cocktail was created as a joke but turned out so amazing that I wanted to share it with everyone. Lately I have been obsessed with the spirit line from Art In The Age, which is innovative liquor brand that features a line of spirits dedicated to bringing back flavors we all loved as a child, such as root beer, gingersnaps and strawberry pie. As a bar manager, I am fortunate that I have access to so many spirits and get to experiment with drink recipes on a daily basis.… Read the rest
