Happy Wine Wednesday! Today I am sharing a fun spin on sangria with one of my favorite wines from the CK Mondavi collection. Back in May, I connected with the fine folks from CK Mondavi at the Food Wine Conference in Orlando, as they were one of the platinum sponsors. Of course, I loved their wines and even brought a few into the restaurant where I work and added them to the wine menu. So far, they have been very well received.… Read the rest

Summer is here and I am excited to share one of my favorite recipes that is perfect for a simple backyard BBQ or a picnic. These delicious Grilled BLT Kebabs are easy to make and even more delicious to eat.… Read the rest
Chicken wings and I go together like bread and truffle butter. I enjoy them baked, fried or grilled, but the most important component is the sauce. My favorite combination is sweet heat and my recipe for peach hot wings is sure to tickle your taste buds and put a smile on your face.
My kids and I are donut lovers and enjoy everything from boutique donut shops to Krispy Kreme. I prefer making our own donuts at home over anything (except for Dough in South Tampa because they are AMAZING) and love to experiment with different flavors. With Mother’s Day just a few days away, they kids and I plan on making our own donut bar at home and creating some delicious memories. Today as I was sipping on a glass of my current obsession, Indian River Select Orange Honeybell Blend juice, I had a tasty idea.… Read the rest
I don’t know about you but I am tired today. In the last week I began working a second job at a local bakery, my son turned 10, I began a new work-out program and I became a foster mom to a sweet little puppy named Ginger who is an adorable mix of cuteness. I have never fostered a dog before and am looking forward to getting her ready to be with her furever home. Yesterday I hosted a beer dinner with Blue Moon Brewing and one of the items I made was a Florida Olive Oil Citrus Cake.… Read the rest
Spring is in the air and I am ready for seasonal flavors and dining al fresco before the weather in Tampa gets unbearably hot. I love this time of year when so many fruits are in season and I can incorporate them into recipes. Sangria is the perfect drink for the season and I have a fun spin on this classic using some of my favorite flavors.
Rasberries and lemons go together like peanut butter and jelly.… Read the rest
Tuesday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week and it is largely due to the fact that I get to share a fun cocktail recipe. Today’s drink is perfect for spring and summer and with Mother’s Day around the corner, this would be a fun beverage to serve for brunch. Beautiful in color, refreshing in taste, my Lavender Lemonade will make you swoon.
As a bar manager for a high-volume establishment, I am all about simplicity and speed of service without compromising flavor.… Read the rest
Have you ever organized a dinner party and spent so much time cooking that you barely had time to socialize with your guests? That happened to me numerous times until I learned to simplify things and serve dishes that are easy to make yet super tasty. Polenta is one of my go-to items for many reasons. 1. It is inexpensive and for a single mom on a budget, it comes in handy. 2. It is versatile.… Read the rest
Want to know something funny? This post has been sitting in my draft box for a year. Yep, that’s right, a year. I started it and never finished due to my crazy work schedule. Since I am doing spring cleaning, I decided to dust this one off and post since it is still a good drink and it is Tuesday Boozeday after all.
I am so glad to be participating with Sunday Supper again after a 7 month hiatus. When I saw that this week’s theme was Italian Fest, I knew I picked the right week to make my return. Italian food is my passion and brings so much joy to my life. While I was trying to decide what to feature as a recipe, I was torn. There are so many dishes that I love but lately I have been thinking about a chicken pesto sandwich that I fell in love with back in the late 90’s in my hometown of San Jose, CA.… Read the rest
