Two of my favorite things in life are food and friends. I can’t think of a better way to get through a bad day than with a bite of something delicious or a phone call with a friend. Lucky for me, I am surrounded by both and with National Complement Day right around the corner on January 24th, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by giving one of my dear friends a sweet surprise from Shari’s Berries.… Read the rest
I must admit, I go through a bout of depression after the holiday season when I take down the Christmas tree and my collection of beautiful ornaments. This has been going on ever since I was a child and even though I am now in my thirties, nothing has changed. January always represented a long and depressing month. Vacation ends and holiday gluttony is suddenly replaced with healthy resolutions. Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite “Hallmark” holidays because I love everything it represents: love, friendship, flowers, champagne and chocolate.… Read the rest
Nothing spells love quite like Nutella. This creamy, chocolate hazelnut spread is heaven in a jar. My kids and I love it so much that we always pick up at least two to three jars while shopping. With Valentine’s Day just a day away, I was looking for fun recipes for my kids on Pinterest last night and found a pin for Nutella Hot Chocolate. My heart skipped a beat and I went to bed dreaming of this decadent cup of bliss.… Read the rest

Cupid’s Float, from the blog Eclectically Vintage, is perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day with your little munchkins. My kids have been planning a Valentine’s Day party and these will be on the menu.
I must admit, while making this, I felt compelled to drink it and it was fantastic.… Read the rest
This recipe had me at white chocolate bark. As many of you may or may not know, Valentine’s Day is my favorite Hallmark holiday. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved Valentine’s Day. Going back to my childhood, I think it was the candy conversation hearts and getting a Valentine from that cute boy in 5th grade. As an adult, I love any holiday that promotes champagne, chocolate and flowers. With that being said, I have an entire board on Pinterest dedicated to V-Day and have been having fun in the kitchen with all things shaped like a heart.… Read the rest
Valentine’s Day is just weeks away and I wanted to share a fun and easy recipe that will satisfy your craving for sweet and salty and makes a great gift for that special someone. Nothing shows love more than making something and this delicious project is easy and fun for kids as well as adults. I adapted my recipe from the blog, Love From The Oven, which I found on Pinterest. The original recipe uses regular pretzels but I opted for Pretzel Crisps since they are always on hand in my kitchen.… Read the rest
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I have been looking on Pinterest for some cute DIY ideas for gifts and found a pin for Aromatherapy Vapor Shower Disks from the blog, Peacoats & Plaid. All you need is baking soda, water, essential oils, a muffin tin and cupcake liners. I tried these out today and was very proud of myself and how they turned out. I am NOT a crafty person and can’t even hem a pair of pants, so this was an exciting project.… Read the rest
