I am the mother of two Nutella obsessed kids. My son, Rocco, is known as “The Nutella Fella,” and my daughter, Gianna Bella is known as “Gia Bella Nutella.” They love the rich, chocolate, hazelnut spread on everything, and are often caught eating in straight out of the jar. My house has been very quiet this week, as they are spending spring break with their dad and his mom who is visiting from out of town. I miss them like crazy and every time I see our large jar of Nutella in the kitchen, I smile and look forward to them coming home this weekend. I have been going through my Pinterest board, Nutella, and found something I will be making for them this Sunday for breakfast…….Nutella Filled Frenched Tortillas. Before I get to the recipe, here is a picture of Rocco enjoying a Nutella doughnut. My sweet boy just melts my heart.
Here is my little Gianna Bella enjoying Nutella right out of the jar. She is definitely my daughter.
This is a fantastic way to enjoy Nutella, and I know they are going to love it. I just made a batch and the scent of these buttery tortillas oozing with warm Nutella made me weak in the knees. I love how this recipe combines French Toast and Nutella, and the end result is a delicious breakfast treat the entire family will enjoy.
This spectacular recipe is courtesy of one of my favorite blogs, Bake at 350, and ideal for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast. All you need are flour tortillas, milk, sugar, vanilla, 2 eggs, butter and Nutella. Much like making French Toast, simply whisk together 2 eggs with 1/2 cup of milk, a dash of vanilla and a TBSP of sugar. (I used coconut sugar, which I prefer). Heat up a pan with butter and then dip both sides of the tortilla in the egg mixture, much like French Toast. Cook in the pan until brown and then flip over and cook the other side until golden brown. Add 2 TBSP to the center of each tortilla and roll. Top with powdered sugar, fresh fruit or even a drizzle of Nutella. Enjoy!
