When it comes to photo apps, my number one favorite is Instagram and I use it daily. Two years ago, I found a pin for 10 cool things to do on Instagram and have been using some of the ideas to create spectacular photos. The article is from Mac World and even though it is from two years ago, you can use it as a guide to create magic with your cell phone.
I went through the ten things that are outlined in the article and wanted to share five that I like and updated them for 2014.
1. Get More Filter Options
With so many cool photo apps that can be directly uploaded to Instagram, you can create stunning photos with the click of a button. Some of my favorites include Waterlogue, Snapseed, Diptic, and Split Pic.
2. See Your Stats
The Statigram website generates a breakdown your Instagram statistics. You can log in to Statigr.am (free) with your Instagram user name and password, and then start quantifying. You will then see your most popular images and filters, see out what day of the week you post on the most, view your tags at a glance, and take a peek at all of your Instagram followers. This is a great tool for those trying to gain more followers.
3. Print Your Pics at a Party
If you are looking for something fun to do at your next party or event, use Instaprint and bring the online social experience of Instagram into the real world. Instaprint will set up an Instaprint box at your event and party-goers can snap Instagram photos at the event and use a custom hashtag. The box looks for Instagram images with the right hashtag and location information. Images are then printed out on Zink paper, with the photographer’s icon and name on top of the image and any comments below. How cool is that?
4. Make Stickers and Posters
You can use Printstagram to turn your Instagram photos into a book of 252 little stickers for as little as $10. If bigger is better, you can go big with a 20-by 40-inch poster of your tiled Instagram images for around $25.
5. Send a Real Postcard
Why buy a generic postcard when you can create your own? The Postagram app will turn your Instagram photo into a real postcard and you can add your custom message, then mail it to your recipient. The app is free but each postcard costs $1. Gotta love it!
