**Update, this event was rescheduled to December 9th from the original September 9th date due to hurricane Irma. I hope to see you there!
You all know by now how much I love food, and if you have been following me on Instagram, then you know how passionate I am about running. In a few weeks I get to combine my love of food and running for the Fit Foodie 5K in Clearwater. This has been an event I have always wanted to participate in, and this year I am making it happen. Not only do I get to run in this delicious 5k, I am blessed to be an ambassador.
Whether you are a seasoned runner or a newbie, this is an event you do not want to miss. Some of the highlights that your registration includes are the following:
· Race registration and bib
· Bites at each mile
· Finisher’s medal
· Access to the John Hancock Vitality Village Food and Fitness Festival
· Delicious tasting stations
· Finish line celebration drinks
· Goody bag with gifts from top health and wellness brands
· Meet-and-greets with John Hancock Elite Athlete Ambassadors
· Cash reward for top finishers
· Happy Hour Bib Pick Up
· Donation to No Kid Hungry
Sounds pretty cool doesn’t it? One of the main things that attracted me to this race, aside from the food of course, is the fact that a portion of the race proceeds will be donated to No Kid Hungry. This has long been an organization that is near and dear to my heart. As a mother of two, it saddens me to know that there are millions of kids in America that don’t get enough food at home, thus making it almost impossible for them to focus and do well in school. I am blessed to be such an active member of the Tampa Bay food community and I often stop and think about those who are less fortunate and want to do what I can to help. In addition to running in this event, I am also fundraising for No Kid Hungry and you can find my donation site here.
I can’t think of a better way to spend a beautiful Saturday in Clearwater than running in a food-themed 5k and being surrounded by so many passionate runners who are all running for a cause. This is shaping up to be an epic event and I hope you will join us. Registration increases on September 8th, so be sure to sign up today. In addition, you can use my code: EATDRINKFF to save $10 off your registration. Click here to register.
