If there was ever a race designed especially for me, you know it would involve pizza. Everyone knows I am the Pizza Queen of Tampa and eat it the night before a big race. Well yesterday was a dream come true for me as I ran The Tampa Pizza 5K Run which was deliciously brought to us by NeoEndurance and Islands Pizza. It is only the morning after and I still have pizza on my brain.
Wonderfully organized by the fine folks of NeoEndurance, the race was held at Al Lopez Park and everyone got to eat a slice before beginning the 5K.
Since my kids have been getting more interested in running, I decided to bring them along and they had a blast. I think it is very important to get my kids involved in any fun races that I can as it inspires them to love fitness.
We all had a great time and the race also included a slice around mile 2. This was my first time doing a race that involved eating during the run and it was such delicious fun. As someone who has done my fair share of races (7 half marathons, tons of 5, 8, 10 and 15ks, I must say that I was very impressed with NeoEndurance. Not only was the race super organized, everyone that was there assisting was beyond friendly and made the event even more special. I can’t wait to run another race with them and plan on doing many more in the future.
I adore my pizza medal and think it goes great with my pizza tattoo.
Have a wonderful week!!!!
