Summer vacation is officially over as my kids went back to school yesterday. I can’t believe I have a 4th and a 7th grader! While we all are excited to get back into a more structured routine, we are a tad sad that summer break is over. Things ended on a bang as we were invited to attend a blogger day this week at TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach. Hands down, TradeWinds is one of my favorite places to stay at the beach and they did not disappoint with a day filled with fun activities and of course, food. Did I mention the view?
Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to the room we were provided with for the day. If you are looking for a great place to relax and unwind in a beautiful setting, this is it! Each room is incredibly spacious and comfortable with walking access to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
All of us were given wonderful beach bags filled with goodies such as a beach towel and other items. I love mine and can’t wait to use it on my next beach trip.
After we got settled, we were free to do what we wanted and my kids headed straight for the pool. They are true Floridians and did not want to get out of the water. After about an hour, we headed over to the beach.
Living in Tampa Bay, we are truly blessed. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Cruz was my go-to beach. While absolutely gorgeous, the water is ice cold and here on the gulf, we enjoy warm water and minimal waves.
Next we walked over to the High-Tide slide on the beach. My kids must have gone down it ten times each as I had to beg them to take a break for lunch. How cool is this slide? I will be sure to try it on our next visit.
As lunch time approached, we headed over to a beautiful tented area and enjoyed fresh fruit, green beans, mac and cheese, burgers and hot dogs with all the fixins’ and refreshing lemonade and iced tea.
When I saw that they were featuring Certified Angus Beef ® brand burgers, I was excited to build a masterpiece.
After lunch my kids were begging to get on the trampoline. I am afraid of heights so I was not going to try it but they sure had a blast.
Kids are so brave, me not so much. I had fun watching them and got lots of great video.
We could not leave without a quick ride in a paddleboat. I let my kids drive and let’s just say, we went in circles. It was a great way to burn off those calories from lunch.
If you live in the Tampa Bay area or will be visiting, I highly recommend a stay at TradeWinds Island Resorts. With so many activities and low-key things to do such as the floating water park, relaxing in a hooded beach cabana or a floating cabana, swimming in one of their many pools, paddleboating the waterways and of course, enjoying the views of the water, it is the perfect family get away. My kids and I are planning a trip back very soon. In the meantime, you can get social with them on the following channels:
